Agropastoralism

Since 2018 Biogascogne has been involved in agropastoralism, which will allow us to strengthen our biodynamic approach. In association with AB/Demeter breeders who breed sheep from Landes de Gascogne and Goats from Pyrenees, a rustic and local breeds in conservation. An alternative solution for ecological management of habitats by herbivores.

The main purpose of agropastoralism is not economic but it’s a maintenance or restoration of biodiversity. Agropastoralism allows a reduction of the environmental impact: a reduction of inputs and waste, a natural soil fertilization and no noise pollution. The herd's itinerary will make it possible to valorize the shifts of grass growth between the different exposures and depths of soils and the lags of appearance of the drought.
